Launched in April this year, THE HUB is Maven’s new accelerator programme designed to provide the vital resources and mentorship to help start-ups and scaling businesses succeed commercially and make a meaningful impact in their local communities.
The concept aims to foster innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship, allowing enrolled businesses to partner with entrepreneurs who have a track record of building, scaling and exiting successful businesses and will provide mentorship, financial guidance, and practical advice, helping new companies navigate the challenges of starting and growing a business.
These events are ‘ask me anything’ sessions which will allow businesses to ask questions to THE HUB’s panel of investment specialists, experienced entrepreneurs and other business experts, about the challenges they may be facing. These sessions will help to tailor guidance and support based on individual objectives, and are an opportunity for likeminded business owners to network, share success stories and experiences, and work together to achieve their ambitions.
The first event will take place on the 13th September in Manchester, chaired by Maven Investment Director James Darlington. A Chartered Accountant, James joined Maven in 2017, where he is responsible for deal origination and execution across Northern England and has led a number of deals across sectors including FinTech, Software, Marketplace Platforms and Recruitment.
With a calendar of further events to follow, THE HUB’s team of specialists will be providing support to promising start-ups across the North West.

“THE HUB is already addressing a genuine need within the North West’s start up community, and we’re delighted to add a new programme of events to provide further support to businesses. Our expert team work has backed hundreds of management teams in achieving their growth ambitions, so understands both the challenges a business can face and the commitment needed to succeed, and can play a significant part in helping younger companies navigate their early growth journeys as they look to build great businesses. The ‘ask me anything’ sessions are a powerful way for our team to gain an insight into specific aspects of attendee businesses, providing tailored advice based on their individual growth needs.”
