The theme for International Women’s Day 2025 is ‘Accelerate Action’. It’s a call to drive meaningful progress towards gender equality.
Diversity isn’t just a goal; it’s a strength. Across Maven, women are making an impact at every level, helping to create a more inclusive, innovative, and forward-thinking business.
But accelerating action means going further. We’re committed to building a culture where opportunities are open to everyone as we know from experience that different outlooks drive better decisions.
Supporting female founders
In the UK funding ecosystem female entrepreneurs continue to face challenges in securing capital and accessing networks. That’s why last year, we launched our Female Founder Funding programme, designed to support early stage women-led businesses, navigating the complexities of business ownership.
Since its launch, we’ve engaged with over 100 female founders, helping them better understand the funding landscape providing practical insights and investment readiness, through a series of workshops and virtual funding clinics.
Building on this foundation, today we’re announcing the launch of ‘Scaling for Success’, the next phase of our programme. Designed to help high growth women-led businesses that are looking to scale, overcome growth challenges, secure finance, and accelerate growth. The goal is to provide tailored support, including corporate strategy and governance, leadership, access to finance, advisory support, customer growth and innovation.
We recognise that access to capital, networks, and advisory support remains a challenge for many female founders. Through targeted events ‘Scaling for Success’ will tackle these barriers and provide meaningful support through:
Breaking down barriers
“At Maven, we are excited to build on the foundation of our inaugural female founders programme launched last year, to continue to focus on supporting women-led businesses to scale. It has been a pleasure to work with so many passionate, inspiring, and motivated female leaders, and we are looking forward to supporting more businesses with investment to help showcase these role models and help address the gaps in funding.”
Rebecca Macdermid, Investment Manager, Maven
“Despite the strides made in entrepreneurship, access to capital for diverse teams and female founders remains a persistent issue. By delivering tailored workshops and mentorship, we want to ensure that women entrepreneurs have the tools, knowledge, and networks they need to grow and scale their businesses.”
Melanie Goward, Partner, Maven
