Despite our insatiable appetite for all things private equity and property, we also care a lot about putting our time into activities which we hope will contribute to making a real difference to people’s everyday lives. This June will see 11 Maven employees from across our UK office network undertake the three peaks challenge for three very worthy charities.
In a nutshell the goal is to climb the highest mountain in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours, and this includes the time it takes to travel between locations! Motivated by the chance to raise a lot of money for charity our hardy volunteers have already been putting in the miles in preparation for the challenge ahead.
Starting at Snowdon in North Wales, our challenge will then take us to Scafell Pike in the Lake District, before we drag our tired limbs up the final, but rather large obstacle, of Ben Nevis in the Scottish Cairngorms. For those of you who are interested you will be able to follow our exploits and monitor our progress throughout the day via the Maven Twitter page.
Our first nominated charity is Blood Wise, which funds world-class research into blood cancers and provides support to those affected by leukaemia, lymphoma, and myeloma. Our second chosen charity is the National Deaf Children’s Society which is dedicated to creating a world without barriers for deaf children and young people. Finally we are setting out to support Maggie’s Centres. Maggie’s provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends across 19 centres.
These charities have a particular poignancy to those taking part, so the hope is that this will help provide the extra impetus required to conquer all three peaks.
All donations, no matter how small, will be gratefully received and go direct to Bloodwise, Maggie’s Centre, and The National Deaf Children’s Society.
Many thanks to Trespass and Maven investees Endura and GT4 Group for kitting out the team.
