Investment in innovative software firm Whiterock Group | Maven

Written by Maven | Dec 20, 2016

Maven has made a £1.1 million investment in the Whiterock Group, a leading Visual Asset Management services specialist. The Group comprises two stand alone businesses, ZynQ 360 and Mercury 92, which both utilise innovative visualisation technologies to deliver pioneering solutions for clients across a range of industries and sectors.

Whiterock has developed ZynQ 360 software, a unique web based visual asset management system, which creates a high definition 360° visual environment of assets and facilities. This enables clients to navigate every area of hard to access assets such as offshore platforms, refineries, or government buildings, via an easy to use web interface. The complete asset can be captured using 360° photography and video, creating an immersive environment that can link and manage all digital data. ZynQ 360 is a cloud-based collaboration tool that can be used 24/7 across desktop and mobile devices, allowing clients to view vital data about their assets anywhere in the world.

Increasingly, duty of care regulations require businesses to ensure that operational risk is identified, evaluated and managed. ZynQ 360’s innovative visualisation techniques allow clients to operate efficiently and safely in order to identify risk, put in place effective mitigation strategies, and crucially allow for cost savings around the inspection and maintenance of assets.

The investment will allow Whiterock to accelerate the roll-out of the software and provide capacity for the business to actively deliver on its strong current pipeline of opportunities.

Whiterock has used its advanced imagery capabilities to further diversify the business by establishing Mercury 92, a creative design agency specialising in 3D animation, creative design, web, virtual reality and 360° spherical photography and video. Maven’s investment will also support this complementary part of the Whiterock business, which has forged a niche position within the corporate design and communication market.

Brian Dillon, Managing Director at Whiterock, said: “We are delighted to be working with the Maven team.  We have developed a really innovative service offering since the company’s formation in 2014 and this transaction provides a great platform for the next phase of our development. The investment comes at a very exciting time for the business and will allow us to accelerate our growth plans.”

Ewan MacKinnon, Investment Director at Maven, added: “Whiterock’s management team, led by Brian Dillon, has a proven track record in this market and the proprietary ZynQ 360 software places it at the forefront of innovation within this niche sector. Maven is committed to supporting dynamic UK businesses, and Whiterock certainly fits that profile; it truly is at the cutting-edge of technology.”
