Maven opens Edinburgh office and appoints four new executives to its Scottish Loan Fund investment & portfolio team
After being selected as the sole fund manager for the £94m Scottish Loan Fund (SLF or the Fund), Maven Capital Partners (Maven) is pleased to announce that it has made a number of new appointments and opened an office in Edinburgh.
The Fund was established by the Scottish Investment Bank to address the demand for finance from eligible SMEs, and has a focus on supporting growth and export businesses that have an established presence in Scotland.
In order to provide comprehensive nationwide coverage, Maven has opened an Edinburgh office, alongside its two long established Scottish offices in Glasgow and Aberdeen. This enlarged office network will ensure that SMEs throughout Scotland are able to access the Fund and that the team at Maven is able to offer a dedicated and responsive service.
The Maven SLF team has also been strengthened with the appointment of four experienced investment and portfolio executives. Julie Glenny and Richard Elliott have joined Maven from Lloyds Banking Group (LBG) and will both be based in the Glasgow and Edinburgh offices. Julie joins as an Investment Director and has over 20 years’ experience of lending to Scottish SMEs. Richard, who was previously an Associate Director with LBG, has eight years’ experience of working within the Relationship Banking and Joint Ventures teams in Edinburgh and joins Maven as an Investment Manager.
Kieran Good has joined Maven from HSBC as an Investment Manager and will be based in the Aberdeen office. He has seven years’ experience of Relationship Banking and is well known in the Aberdeen market having also worked at Bank of Scotland.
Alasdair Miller will join Maven on a part-time basis to assist with all aspects of the SLF portfolio. Alasdair is a highly experienced private equity portfolio manager having previously worked at Royal Bank Development Capital and Dunedin Private Equity.
In addition, Inverness based Robert Beattie, will also assist with the marketing and promotion of the Fund in the Highland and Islands region.
