Maven client funds have invested in Southampton based DPP, which is one of the UK’s leading privately owned commercial maintenance contractors. The business provides mechanical and electrical maintenance, on both a planned and reactive basis, to operators of public houses and restaurants as well as to the retail sector.
Maven’s investment will support the founding management team in achieving the company’s growth aspirations. DPP, which was founded in 1985, already employs over 200 people and delivers a comprehensive support service, including major projects such as full system refurbishments and rebranding.
The business has achieved consistent sales growth, with turnover rising to around £18 million per annum on the back of contract wins with major hospitality operators such as Mitchells and Butlers and Greene King. Maven has invested in a business with strong levels of recurring revenue and an excellent track record of winning and retaining clients. The market for maintenance services has seen large scale operators of pubs and restaurants increasingly recognise the benefits of consolidating their supplier bases, and DPP has been able to differentiate its proposition by offering a total service solution to its customers.
There has been a marked move away from small-scale local operators towards the regional supply of services from a single supplier, which can achieve cost and service efficiencies. Allied to increasing health & safety regulation and DPP’s high quality customer service, this market trend is expected to generate significant growth opportunities and means the company is well placed to expand its service provision to existing customers and achieve new contract wins.
