Nine out of the top 100 fastest-growing businesses in the North, including two of the top 10, are Maven investees, according to growth rate statistics released by boutique investment banking company GP Bullhound and announced at the Northern Tech Awards 2022.
Orka Technology Group is Maven’s highest-placed investee in the list, in seventh, with a growth rate of 109%. Eighth-placed Relative Insight, a fellow Northwest-based software company backed by Maven, posted 97% growth.
Seven other companies contribute to a strong Maven presence throughout the Northern Tech Awards’ list, including two that narrowly missed out on the top 10. Thirteenth-placed Airtime Rewards, whose app enables shoppers to earn rewards as they spend, and fifteenth-placed SoPost, whose platform allows brands to offer samples to consumers, posted growth of 76% and 63% respectively.
Other Maven investees to make the top 100 are data archiving service MirrorWeb, whose 33% growth earns 45th place on the list. Cloud-based software provider Membr (71st) and SaaS fintech My Digital (72nd), both posted growth of 21%, as did digital product studio Hedgehog Lab (74th). Software vendor AppLearn, which posted 18% growth, comes in 79th, ensuring that all of the list’s Maven investees make the top 80.
The achievements of these companies reflect Maven’s strong track record of supporting innovative growth businesses from the regions to deliver on their growth potential. Technology is unsurprisingly a common theme among these investees and in the list as a whole, with software, digital services, and fintech making up much of the list. Similarly, the geographical spread of these successful businesses covers both the Northwest and the Northeast, as well as Yorkshire.
“We are proud that so many of our investee companies from the region have been recognised for their success, and we look forward to supporting even more businesses to break into the top 100 in future. Indeed, while we are delighted to account for such a significant proportion of this year’s Northern Tech Awards’ top 100 companies, the region is richly populated with so many more businesses that are well equipped to achieve success with the right funding opportunities available.”
