Maven Capital Partners, a subsidiary of Mattioli Woods, is looking for an Investment Associate to join our Property team in Glasgow. This is an office-based, full-time role, 34.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

 

The role would suit a graduate with a degree in business, finance, mathematics, economics or real estate related discipline who is in the early stages of their career (2 - 4 years relevant experience).

This role will be an active member of the Maven Property team. You will be supporting the team in assessment, transacting and managing property investment projects from inception to exit.

The role & responsibilities:

  • Support the Property team to manage a portfolio of varied real estate investments across the UK.
  • Co-ordinate deal flow and deal tracking via internal reporting systems.
  • Assist the team with deal execution activities including review and input to legal agreements.
  • Liaison and information gathering from a variety of sources including online and agents or advisers.
  • Support the team with performing market research and analysis, communicating with key parties including external agents and advisors, in relation to potential investment opportunities.
  • Support the presentation of investment opportunities to the Investment Committee.
  • Support the team with essential housekeeping and governance activities including preparation of investment committee minutes, the writing of portfolio asset bulletin reports and input to regular investor reporting.
  • Gather and input monthly management account, budget information and other required portfolio data into internal reporting systems.
  • Support the Property Investment team with ad hoc tasks including diary management and arranging and participating in meetings & calls with funding & development partners, advisers, agents and investors.
  • Undertake detailed analysis of investment opportunities including initial appraisal, internal due diligence, financial modelling and writing investment papers for Investment Committee.
  • Support the presentation of deal structures and related terms to vendors and investment partners and advisors, assisting negotiation of terms and legal documentation.

What you need to succeed

  • The role would suit a graduate with a degree in business, finance, mathematics, economics or real estate-related discipline who is in the early stages of their career.
  • Candidate will be highly numerate and literate, be able to demonstrate a professional and relational communication style and be able to manage multiple competing priorities and work under pressure.
  • Good data analysis skills and highly competent with Excel.
  • Organised and detail orientated, able to work effectively and independently as well as working alongside others as part of a team.
  • Personable, able to build relationships and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders – managers, advisors etc.
  • No less than 2 years’ experience working in a financial services or real estate related business or role.
  • Experience in managing property or loans portfolio (desirable).
  • Ability to solve problems using commercial acumen.
  • Personable, able to build relationships and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders – managers, advisors, banks, etc.
  • Suitable professional qualification / or working towards these qualifications, e.g. ICAS, MRICS, CIOBs or other related qualifications would be beneficial but not a pre-requisite.
  • Strong project management and time management skills.
