The role & responsibilities
- Managing the financial ledger and preparing monthly management accounts for the parent company, its subsidiaries and various funds.
- Overseeing financial processes (purchase ledger/sales ledger/bank reconciliation) and reviewing the outputs.
- Understanding the group structure and cashflows, ensuring all intercompany balances and investments are booked on a timely basis.
- Preparation of year end statutory financial statements.
- Preparation of group VAT returns.
- Various ad hoc initiatives as directed by the senior finance team.
- Provide cross-cover between group and fund accounting when business needs dictate.
Skills & Experience
- Accounting qualification essential with previous financial accounting and management reporting experience.
- The candidate should be confident, a self-starter, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment.
- They must be able to demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, good judgement showing logical decision making, and a hands-on approach.
- Excellent time management and adherence to deadlines.
- Computer literate with advanced level excel skills and solid understanding of accounting software principles.
- Experience of using SAGE accounting package desirable.
- Ability to work well in a team, but also to use your own initiative.
- Strong administration and organisational skills.
